Information about the organisation: 
Our association was founded in Edirne in 1992.Afterwards, with the influence of the environmental movements in the world,it has fulfilled it’s function by contributing to the development of environmental awareness in the city. Our most important objectives are,lay out the benefits and positive impact of trees,forest and vegetation on human health,protect nature,educate people to create a greener environment,promote research activities and develop awareness to preserve the city’s historical and cultural heritage and it’s rich nature. On Tunca and Meriç rivers there are lots of natural beauties and bird housing areas like Eğribük and Gölbaba wetlands.Our association made a Project to protect this area with the number 4218 dated 25/09/1997 and the area registered as a natural protected area. Edirne Environmental Volunteers Association struggles against green area ocuupations in the city centre and riversides and we also give struggle to protect forests and wooded areas like Söğütlük and open these places to the public use. We are in cooperation with the local government in order to care,protect and prun trees in the city centre. Our association also participates the environmental studies in towns and villages near our city.We make informative studies with people and we check industrial pollution,mining companies and stone pits in our region.We organize meetings with farmers to explain damages and disadvantages of using fertilizers in agriculture. Our association not only works in the city centre,towns and villlages but also cooperates with organizations in Thrace to plan sustainable environment.We make studies to protect Istranca Mountains which located within the boundries of Turkey and Bulgaria because we know that,these mountains are basic source of Ergene plain and Thrace should be seen as a whole. Our association organized a symposium on World Water from taps at our houses.We want to organize studies with our neighbours Greece and Bulgaria on the next World Water Day in 2016 with the aim of preventing flood that harms our city every year. Our association is a volunteer organization.Our budget is limited and we are able to get donations from our members for our studies. Our association will study in the future with the awareness that healtier life can be in a clean environment

Short description of the project idea: 
We will teach the techniques of decomposing the garbages in the center of Edirne and some villages around Edirne. We are aiming at delivering the differentiated garbages to the decomposing facility in Edirne. We will create an awareness among the students and their parents and the public at the schools, houses, coffee houses. We will develop some brochures and booklets in the project and we will produce some short videos for creating awareness.
