| Project summary: | The aim of the project is to enhance the territorial cohesion in the cross-border region by creating opportunities for sports, recreation and tourism and sustainable development with joint tourism initiatives based on the fostering the strengths and use of potential opportunities of the region. The activities planned within the project include exploration of the opportunities for cycling tourism and development of joint cross-border tourist products in the cities of Haskovo, Bulgaria and Edirne, Turkey. Bicycle stands will be provided, trilingual tourist map for Ecotourism with PoI `s of Haskovo-Edirne Region will be issued, as well as trilingual catalogue “Tourist alternative in the Haskovo-Edirne Region". A project website with mobile app technologies will be targeted at young people in the cross-border region. The project will contribute to improvement of the quality of environment and life of the local population by creating opportunities for environmentally friendly tourism, sports and recreation and its popularization. |
