The Kırklareli University was founded at 2007 under the administration of the Trakya University Rectorate Enver Duran. The University is based on a strong background of the Faculty of Engineering, built at 1992. The University has four faculties, two institutes, seven vocational schools and a school of health, with nearly 19000 students, more than 500 academic and 230 administrative staff. The University is a member of the Balkan Universities Network.

2.1. Increasing the touristic attractiveness of the cross-border area through better utilisation of natural, cultural and historical heritage and related infrastructure
Short description of the project idea: 
Seyfioğlu Bastion is one of the most important cultural heritage of Kırklareli. Therefore, it is planned to be a beautiful recreation area and a tourism complex with restaurants, cafes, shopping centers, a multifunctional banquet areas etc. Thus an important cultural heritage will be protected and a new recreation area will be earned to Kırklareli province. The Project will be planned in this direction. Seyfioğlu Bastion has a big area. Hence, the Project will be carried out step by step. A restoration Project will be planned firstly and then the restoration plan will be implemented accordingly. After these levels a part of the planned tourism complex be put into operation.
